The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gernando Guerra was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. 4 minutes into the match, A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Lorenzo Osasun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 6 minutes in the game Primitivo Andino did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Felix Montenegro. After 25 played minutes Lorenzo Osasun rounded Ecuador's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. In the 28th minute Lorenzo Osasun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gernando Guerra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Gernando Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Lorenzo Osasun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gernando Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of the match. When Lorenzo Osasun came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the A.F. Pindamonhangaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lorenzo Osasun couldn't finish the play. When A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Lorenzo Osasun in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lorenzo Osasun made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gernando Guerra. Gernando Guerra yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 57 minutes into the match, A.F. Pindamonhangaba's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Gernando Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gernando Guerra came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 58th minute. Gernando Guerra made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Lorenzo Osasun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After 64 played minutes A.F. Pindamonhangaba got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Cunha. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Gernando Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lorenzo Osasun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Osasun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Lorenzo Osasun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when A.F. Pindamonhangaba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Osasun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gernando Guerra having to interfere. A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Gernando Guerra managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Camilo Gisbert in the 87 minute of the game. A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Gernando Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Gustavo Cunha in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador played a much better game than A.F. Pindamonhangaba and deserved their victory. The A.F. Pindamonhangaba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
