Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Gertjan Lanphan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stephen Waron in the 17th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gertjan Lanphan in the 22nd minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Gertjan Lanphan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gertjan Lanphan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Volodymyr Zelenskiy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Gertjan Lanphan came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Joshua Secada managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joshua Secada was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Volodymyr Zelenskiy was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Volodymyr Zelenskiy despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Szuperbeton's Pierre De Swert got a free kick in the 67th minute. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Pierre De Swert was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gertjan Lanphan in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Gertjan Lanphan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gertjan Lanphan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Venezuela's attentive Jose Correa managed to snatch the ball when Robrecht Streels made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gertjan Lanphan, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Volodymyr Zelenskiy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gertjan Lanphan in the 89th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Volodymyr Zelenskiy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gertjan Lanphan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Szuperbeton's Pierre De Swert got a free kick in the 95th minute. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
