With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Bollklubbens IF's Robertas Lewandowski fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. If Robertas Lewandowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Leo Uhlbäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Leo Uhlbäck in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, Bollklubbens IF could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
