Baraxil Sarrate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Valentin Voicu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-0. Baraxil Sarrate made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. VILLARREAL UNITED's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Valentin Voicu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Valentin Voicu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Valentin Voicu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0.

The wind increased when Valentin Voicu made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, VILLARREAL UNITED's Valentin Voicu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Valentin Voicu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 74 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Delmar Campello who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Delmar Campello almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. With his leg Baraxil Sarrate managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
