Ecuador's Daniel Zorita managed to work through NewDip F.C.'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Daniel Zorita dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 25th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domenico Lauro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. NewDip F.C.'s Alessio Giusti got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play forced NewDip F.C.'s goalkeeper Domenico Lauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Ferdinando Battista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberigo Sacchi. In the 47th match minute, NewDip F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Chiluiza to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when NewDip F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferdinando Battista didn't get a good kick on the ball. NewDip F.C. made a substitution. Ferruccio Scalabrino replaced Dave Aversano. NewDip F.C.'s Antonio Tripodi was substituted for Alessio Giusti. Ferdinando Battista kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 74th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Domenico Lauro but with some difficulty. If Antonio Tripodi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute.
