Arsenio Manni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Laus Deo's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Arsenio Manni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Laus Deo's Luis Alberto Moura slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 1-1 after 36 minutes of play. In the 40th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abraham Alguacil to maneuver through the defense. Arsenio Manni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arsenio Manni came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Tomas Berganza. But to his dismay, Tomas Berganza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kong Ping in the 52nd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Laus Deo got a freekick which was hit by Timur Belyaninov. After a defensive mix-up in Laus Deo's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arsenio Manni came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Luis Alberto Moura put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Arsenio Manni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 63rd minute of play. In the 63rd match minute, Laus Deo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grzegorz Roman to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Abraham Alguacil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arsenio Manni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 73rd minute of play forced Laus Deo's goalkeeper Arsenio Manni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Laus Deo's Michel de Alcântara was substituted for Peder Mellingen. Laus Deo's Robinho Recife was substituted for Kong Ping. Laus Deo's Eliseu Arósio was substituted for Antonio Gora. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Miguel Miralles hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Gildo Tande left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laus Deo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Michel de Alcântara hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arsenio Manni having to interfere. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Alberto Moura came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abraham Alguacil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Panama players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Laus Deo.
