The audience thought a goal was coming when Vatan Enfal got free with Julio Vera in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Inter de Chillán made a substitution. Marcel Wassermayer replaced Chen Feng Jian. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Anton Björnberg however easily saved by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Abel in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Antonio Arias fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Antonio Arias a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th match minute, Inter de Chillán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Abel to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. After 80th play minutes Rickard Erserman shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rickard Erserman in the 83rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Samuel Abel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. After 93 played minutes Inter de Chillán got a freekick which was hit by Marcel Wassermayer. Juan Sebastián Puig's late challenge caught a Inter de Chillán's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Sebastián Puig helped the player get up and apologised.
