Călin Boieraș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Basarab Panduru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Basarab Panduru sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Chioreanu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert to a score. 1-1 in the 35th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Chioreanu in the 38th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lucrețiu Sfetcu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Călin Boieraș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basarab Panduru in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucrețiu Sfetcu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 60 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Costin Malcoci was substituted for Horia Chioreanu. In the 62nd minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucrețiu Sfetcu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 70 played minutes FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt got a freekick which was hit by Costin Malcoci. After taking down the ball on FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's corner Călin Boieraș fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrian Nasta's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Valer Perișoară scored 2-3 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costin Malcoci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
