In the 6th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Torelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Mateusz Smolarek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mateusz Smolarek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Manfredonia Calcio 1932's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Alfredo Torelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 39th minute of play forced Manfredonia Calcio 1932's goalkeeper Alfredo Torelli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arturo Borrelli hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Manfredonia Calcio 1932 getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Arturo Borrelli hit a great ball. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 66th minute, Achille Barbato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto Giandomenico in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Alfredo Torelli stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. In the 84th minute, Mateusz Smolarek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manfredonia Calcio 1932 made a substitution. Jagad Te Vrede replaced Ernesto Giandomenico. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alessandro Del Piero couldn't finish the play.
