If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Danny Pasquier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Sébastien Milliot threw the ball into play from the sideline. Venezuela's Patricio Costa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. With an all-out effort, Avel Vat's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Youri Djorkaeff, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Youri Djorkaeff went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 65 played minutes Avel Vat got a freekick which was hit by Émilien Tessier. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillaume Minier, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Danny Pasquier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Patricio Costa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Danny Pasquier quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 84 played minutes Avel Vat got a freekick which was hit by Youri Djorkaeff. Edmond Kubiak made in the 88th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sébastien Milliot. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Youri Djorkaeff sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move. There was no doubt that Avel Vat were the better team. Avel Vat's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
