With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson Arósio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rodrigo Medeiros hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Pombal 2003 F.C.'s Eusébio Campidelis got a free kick in the 27th minute. Eusébio Campidelis made in the 33rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cássio Severo immediately put the ball in play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilson Arósio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gilson Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 46th play minute Betão Félix came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lautaro Navarro. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. Sebastian Villa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Gilson Arósio made a huge save. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Félix in the 54th minute of play. 59 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilson Arósio. Edmundo Espiga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Eusébio Campidelis kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. Honduras's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 74th match minute, Pombal 2003 F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Luís Moreno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pombal 2003 F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Moreno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilson Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilson Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Villa might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilson Arósio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Villa ran back to his position shaking his head. Emanuel Ocampo's late challenge caught a Pombal 2003 F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emanuel Ocampo helped the player get up and apologised. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Moreno in the 97th minute of play.
