Joel Gaona scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dibag Martinez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dibag Martinez skillfully saved the ball. Dibag Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 23rd minute of the match. Lautaro Martinez came free with the goalkeeper in the 25th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dante Lacasa could save by the left post. In the 27th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dibag Martinez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after La Scaloneta's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Lautaro Martinez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Dibag Martinez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when La Scaloneta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Dybala didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lion Messi made a kick off. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Marcos Acuña hit a great ball. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 60th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lion Messi in the 67th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dibag Martinez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. After 72 minutes La Scaloneta's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Dibag Martinez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 73rd minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute of the match Enzo Fernández shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 77th minute Ángel-Fabián Di María shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 81 minutes, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alberto Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save La Scaloneta from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Mancebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dibag Martinez. That made the score 0-2 in the 85 minute of play. La Scaloneta's Dibag Martinez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 94th minute of play. The La Scaloneta fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mexico were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
