Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. Vinicio Collado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vinicio Collado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vinicio Collado. Astillero del Guayas's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Zaquiel Boñar sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vinicio Collado. Vinicio Collado dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Zuberoa Sanguino hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Diego Carredano got a free kick in the 30th minute. Vinicio Collado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 33rd minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Astillero del Guayas's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A well done corner resulted in Felix Montes drilling the ball in to score 0-4 behind Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Vinicio Collado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Vinicio Collado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vinicio Collado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Astillero del Guayas defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vinicio Collado. The Astillero del Guayas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vinicio Collado should have stopped the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

After 51 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. After a defensive mix-up in Astillero del Guayas's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vinicio Collado came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vinicio Collado firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 59th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. In the 65th minute, Zuberoa Sanguino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Vinicio Collado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Astillero del Guayas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Carredano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vinicio Collado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 70th minute of play. In the 74th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Astillero del Guayas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Vinicio Collado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 0-7 from a short distance just to the right of Vinicio Collado. Videl Amaya's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Videl Amaya helped the player get up and apologised. Videl Amaya kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinicio Collado having to interfere. 81 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's goalkeeper Vinicio Collado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodney Cosca during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Rodney Cosca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vinicio Collado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 85th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 87th minute. After 94 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vinicio Collado was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
