The throw-in from Zhao Bing Cheng in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierluigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 30th minute of play forced KaoS Futbol Club's goalkeeper Pierluigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierluigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind KaoS Futbol Club's goalkeeper Pierluigi Buffon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pierluigi Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 41st minute of the match Peru got a corner. KaoS Futbol Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Peru's Julian Murillo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pierluigi Buffon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Luz Tejedor struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Pierluigi Buffon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Noe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When KaoS Futbol Club's Noel Hargrave in 47 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Rolando Noboa guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 52nd minute Igor Lebas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of KaoS Futbol Club booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efraim Gilabert didn't get a good kick on the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pierluigi Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Narciso Noe ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. KaoS Futbol Club made a substitution. Amancio Semeno replaced Albino Olayo. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierluigi Buffon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Zhao Bing Cheng threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 85 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Noe came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, KaoS Futbol Club's Pierluigi Buffon got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pierluigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luz Tejedor received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pierluigi Buffon came out and tried to block the shot, but Luz Tejedor slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 93rd minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
