After 9 played minutes Club Real Cantera got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Maraman. Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milagros Fraga in the 20th minute of play. Gaudencio Frichoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luz Tejedor scored 1-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaudencio Frichoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Club Real Cantera's Gaudencio Frichoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 33rd minute of play. Club Real Cantera were furious when Rolando Schiavi was red carded, 37 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Rolando Schiavi kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Emmanuel Reyes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaudencio Frichoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaudencio Frichoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Gaudencio Frichoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play. After the first half Peru were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agustin Lain was the one to do the kick off. Victorio Mosen fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 54th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Victorio Mosen came free in the 62nd minute and tried to tip the ball over Rolando Noboa, but to the joy of Peru's supporters the ball went over. Agustin Lain hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Real Cantera's goalkeeper Gaudencio Frichoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
