The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. El Salvador's Luis Rubio managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mathias Varela in the 11 minute of the game. 13 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Ramalho came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ernesto Berger struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aesir FC FSCMZ. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Berger in the 17th minute of play. Luis Rubio's late challenge caught a Aesir FC FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 22nd match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Eduardo Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mathias Varela made in the 25th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant. Luiz Eduardo Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sydney Ramalho's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Anselmo Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aesir FC FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Anselmo Fantini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Ramalho in the 34th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Moises Fernandino made the kick off in the second half. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anselmo Fantini in the 52nd minute of the match. If Sydney Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Fantini came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aesir FC FSCMZ's Sydney Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Moises Fernandino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Berger in the 67th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Moises Fernandino.
