In the 5th minute, Betão Vargas made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 10th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clayton Sergi got free with Julio Vera in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 15 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Felix Montenegro. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Chaves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Betão Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Chaves having to interfere. Tony Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tony Chaves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after SE Palestra Itália's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Agustín Saelices to score against Tony Chaves in SE Palestra Itália's goal. 1-2 after 37 minutes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 44th minute of play forced SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tony Chaves. SE Palestra Itália's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. The nice shot from Daniel Zorita in the 51stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Tony Chaves had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. In the 52nd minute Betão Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Caetano Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. SE Palestra Itália made a substitution. Bruno Dias replaced Caetano Félix. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clayton Sergi, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With a little luck, SE Palestra Itália's Tony Chaves got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute Betão Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clayton Sergi's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. SE Palestra Itália's Cristóvão Madureira was substituted for Acar Buğrahan. In the 74th minute Betão Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Sergi in the 78th minute of play. Betão Vargas might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Betão Vargas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Clayton Sergi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bruno Campon kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After having played for 90 minutes, Cristóvão Madureira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SE Palestra Itália's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristóvão Madureira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tony Chaves, 1-4. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Betão Vargas in the 96th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 96th minute. After having played for 97 minutes, Clayton Sergi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SE Palestra Itália's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clayton Sergi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The SE Palestra Itália fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
