Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After 17 played minutes Cercadinho got a freekick which was hit by Izydor Domamir. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mugurel Zota stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Valiente Venezian reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 27th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mugurel Zota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdulkadir Turay, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute, Cercadinho's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cristian Sancho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Mugurel Zota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cercadinho made a substitution. Jailson Mazza replaced Luisinho Vinhas. In the 69th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Cercadinho's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Agustín Saelices getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Mugurel Zota in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 78th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Cercadinho were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
