The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes, Dennis Pagliarini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gonzo Style f.c and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes Gonzo Style f.c got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Pagliarini. 6 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lucas Savenije was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Lucas Savenije tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucas Savenije having to make a save. Lucas Savenije made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Gonzo Style f.c's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Lucas Savenije reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Savenije having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gonzo Style f.c's Enrico Tassotti got a free kick in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Damiano Mian tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Gonzo Style f.c was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesare Natalin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucas Savenije showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Lucas Savenije tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
