Narciso Frechoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute, Qin Kun Xi made a precise shot to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Narciso Frechoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qin Kun Xi in the 14th minute of the match. Velez sarsfield's attentive Emil Zbytniewski managed to snatch the ball when Alonso Berganza made a throw-in in the 16th minute of the game. Emil Zbytniewski hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Narciso Frechoso was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Alejo Larra made in the 21st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. Julian Murillo scored 1-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Narciso Frechoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 33rd minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 36 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Narciso Frechoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narciso Frechoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Narciso Frechoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 41st minute of the match. The throw-in from Alonso Berganza in the 44th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Velez sarsfield's Emil Zbytniewski. After a rather tough play, Velez sarsfield's Alejo Larra got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Qin Kun Xi was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Qin Kun Xi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alejo Larra, made in the 67th minute of the game. 68 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's Walter Pico sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Noboa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 70 minutes of play, Velez sarsfield's Walter Pico made it 2-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Peru were awarded a corner in the 76th minute after Velez sarsfield's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Velez sarsfield's goalie and right to Eliseo Mina. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Velez sarsfield's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 78th minute of play forced Velez sarsfield's goalkeeper Narciso Frechoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walter Pico in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Velez sarsfield's Narciso Frechoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Velez sarsfield from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, Velez sarsfield's goalkeeper Narciso Frechoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milagros Fraga. Moises Gayoso might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Frechoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Gayoso ran back to his position shaking his head. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Emil Zbytniewski made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. Narciso Frechoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Gallo in the 94th minute of play. With his leg Narciso Frechoso managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Peru's Rafael Gallo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Velez sarsfield.
