Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 3 minutes into the match, Lakers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Paulão Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Oséas Capixaba's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Paulão Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Noboa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Lakers FC's Luís Fábio Arósio got a free kick in the 10th minute. Lautaro Puig took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulão Corrêa. Paulão Corrêa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sidnei Branco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Branco came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidnei Branco in the 21st minute of play. Paulão Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute, Eliseo Noboa made a precise shot to the right of Paulão Corrêa. Lakers FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Lakers FC's Adhemar Montenegro got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th match minute, Lakers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Álvaro Paiva to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute, Axel Tasis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulão Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Lakers FC's Paulão Corrêa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Puig in the 42nd minute of play. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Axel Tasis charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Axel Tasis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After having played for 61 minutes, Sidnei Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lakers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidnei Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Lakers FC fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Lakers FC's Sidnei Branco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Paulão Corrêa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Lakers FC's Percival Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paulão Corrêa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Puig in the 73rd minute. After 74 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. In the 77th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute Sidnei Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lakers FC's Sidnei Branco got a free kick in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulão Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Lakers FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sidnei Branco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
