Joel Caton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 3rd minute. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alonzo Gipils in the 4th minute of the match. 8 minutes into the game, Fabricio Vedeja cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomas Berganza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Caton having to make a save. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Pascua in the 21st minute of play. Joel Caton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Caton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 26 minutes, Fabricio Vedeja managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loja S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabricio Vedeja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victor Peres got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Ros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Pascua, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Tomas Berganza scored 1-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joel Caton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Peres in the 43rd minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Felix Pascua made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Loja S.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justavino Centeno to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Fabricio Vedeja notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 61 minutes into the match, Loja S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Alguacil came free, but Joel Caton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joel Caton saved Loja S.C. from getting behind. The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Alguacil didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 66 minutes of play, Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot 72 in the game by Abraham Alguacil from a close distance when the talented Joel Caton managed to make a qualified save. Loja S.C.'s players were relieved. Joel Caton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 76th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 81st minute of play forced Loja S.C.'s goalkeeper Joel Caton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Loja S.C.'s Victor Peres in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panama's goalie prevented a goal. 84 minutes into the game, Jose Aumada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 90th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Loja S.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fabricio Vedeja kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Tomas Berganza struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Joel Caton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. Loja S.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Panama for a fine match.
