Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Wnukowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Radomiak Radom's Robert Wnukowski. But to his dismay, Robert Wnukowski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Robert Wnukowski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Hieronim Mentis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Wnukowski to make the kick off. In the 82nd match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Robert Wnukowski scored 7-2 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Radomiak Radom was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Wnukowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Wnukowski in the 90th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Radomiak Radom getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Xerardo Climent hit a great ball. Radomiak Radom's Robert Wnukowski got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
