In the 25th minute of the game Antonio Smith made a throw-in which Gino Moreira played forward. In the 32nd minute, Evandro Penha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Mina hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 39 minutes of play, Porvir FC's Rodrigo Quirino made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. João Augusto Soeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Augusto Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luz Tejedor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Antonio Smith made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sílvio Luiz de Carvalho immediately put the ball in play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrigo Quirino in the 54th minute of the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Quirino in the 57th minute of play. João Augusto Soeiro made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fábio Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute, Rodrigo Quirino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Gino Moreira hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Milagros Fraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Julian Murillo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Augusto Soeiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Moreira came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with João Augusto Soeiro in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Porvir FC's Claes Bjurström. But to his dismay, Claes Bjurström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Porvir FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
