Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Durvalino Soeiro made the kick off and thus started the match. 4 minutes into the match, SANTOS F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Cauã Domingues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute. A collision led to SANTOS F.C getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Dalmo Cerezo hit a great ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind SANTOS F.C's goalkeeper Cauã Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Durvalino Soeiro took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. SANTOS F.C's Cauã Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 18th minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Neto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cauã Domingues having to make a save. In the 37th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Cauã Domingues was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 2-1. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Neto came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute of the match Teodoro Maranhense sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. SANTOS F.C's Cauã Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save SANTOS F.C from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Vinhas came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Cauã Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Vinhas in the 89th minute of the match. When Gustavo Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the SANTOS F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo Vinhas couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind SANTOS F.C's goalkeeper Cauã Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Daniel Portillo kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but SANTOS F.C were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
