Reynaldo Tino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lesardo Alavedra, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Deportivo Alavés's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andrés Iniesta in the 25th minute. Deportivo Alavés's Andrés Iniesta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Reynaldo Tino in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 27thth minute of the game Marcus Östman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Alavés's Nils-Åke Andreasson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 27 minutes, Marcus Östman made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Deportivo Alavés's Nils-Åke Andreasson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lesardo Alavedra took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Reynaldo Tino. Reynaldo Tino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. With an all-out effort, Swindon Sweden FF's Nils-Åke Andreasson threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcus Östman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Deportivo Alavés's Andrés Iniesta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Filiberto Sauca, made in the 40th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Swindon Sweden FF defense, Vincent Solera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Tino. The Swindon Sweden FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Tino should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the match, Deportivo Alavés's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Haglund came free, but Nils-Åke Andreasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lesardo Alavedra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Brian Falck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynaldo Tino made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Lesardo Alavedra sent off a good shot on target. Swindon Sweden FF's Reynaldo Tino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vincent Solera in the 77th minute of play. Swindon Sweden FF's Sten Jespersson was substituted for Sven-Erik Lindberg. Swindon Sweden FF made a substitution.
