Mikolaj Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Vollmar in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Pankracy Malicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Mikolaj Jerzyk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Thomas Vollmar dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 1-0. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikolaj Jerzyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Thomas Vollmar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mikolaj Jerzyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 87th minute of play. Antonio Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonio Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. If Pankracy Malicki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Mikolaj Jerzyk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 94th minute.
