Thomas Vollmar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 11th minute of the match Newcastle United got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zé Paulo Zonta ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Venezuela's goalie and right to Olgierd Wojtowicz. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Venezuela's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Adam Pacholewski sent off a good shot on target. 15 minutes into the game, Thomas Vollmar lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Jonathan Ferrant. In the 18th minute, Pankracy Malicki made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Pankracy Malicki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Thomas Vollmar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 3-0. Pankracy Malicki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mikolaj Jerzyk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pankracy Malicki in the 30th minute. The corner ended in Thomas Vollmar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. When Newcastle United's Thomas Vollmar in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 41st minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 42nd minute of play. Adam Pacholewski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Adam Pacholewski slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 45th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Vollmar stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Thomas Vollmar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Adam Pacholewski struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newcastle United. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Vollmar in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marian Erland didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75thth minute of the game Thomas Vollmar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomas Vollmar took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. 83 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski. But to his dismay, Adam Pacholewski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. In the 90th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikolaj Jerzyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adam Pacholewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Newcastle United were the better team. Newcastle United's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
