The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. After having played for 22 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. In the 29th minute Luís Guilherme Cunha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Luís Guilherme Cunha notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edgar Appel got a throw-in 36 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sidney Carneiro. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Lara Peñaranda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Sidney Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zheng Guang Ning kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Edmundo Espiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lara Peñaranda. Beneficiente's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Guilherme Cunha in the 47th minute of the match. Beneficiente's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgar Appel in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 60thth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sidney Carneiro in the 62nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lara Peñaranda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 63rd minute. Laércio Aguiar kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Honduras's attentive Christian Sancho managed to snatch the ball when 巩沙谦 made a throw-in in the 70th minute of the game. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lara Peñaranda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. After 73 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edgar Appel who took care of the corner kick. In the 81st match minute, Beneficiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zheng Guang Ning to maneuver through the defense. 83 minutes into the game, Luís Guilherme Cunha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beneficiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. In the 83rd match minute, Beneficiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Cunha to maneuver through the defense. After 92 played minutes Beneficiente got a freekick which was hit by 巩沙谦. Beneficiente's Lara Peñaranda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 92nd minute of play. In the 97th minute, Luís Guilherme Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Beneficiente's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
