The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Bernard Kolano came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Who Ate All Depay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernard Kolano couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play forced Who Ate All Depay's goalkeeper Falco Pruischer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 6 in the game by Bernard Kolano from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Falco Pruischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Who Ate All Depay's Falco Pruischer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Who Ate All Depay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Falco Pruischer quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Falco Pruischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Bernard Kolano tried to sneak it across the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Wen Bo Yang came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Falco Pruischer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Falco Pruischer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of the match. Wen Bo Yang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wen Bo Yang in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Falco Pruischer saved Who Ate All Depay from getting behind. Jan Dirks's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Dirks helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Who Ate All Depay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Dirks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Alex Volponi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 54thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Falco Pruischer would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 55th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Luis Andino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Who Ate All Depay's Falco Pruischer did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wen Bo Yang in the 58th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Falco Pruischer made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Who Ate All Depay's Tor-Egil Gjertsen got a free kick in the 66th minute. Who Ate All Depay's Jeremie Frimpong was substituted for Jan Dirks. Falco Pruischer made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. 70 minutes into the match, Who Ate All Depay's goalkeeper Falco Pruischer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. In the 71st match minute, Who Ate All Depay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tor-Egil Gjertsen to maneuver through the defense. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 79th minute of play forced Who Ate All Depay's goalkeeper Falco Pruischer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 84 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montes. In the 85th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wen Bo Yang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roel Ravenbergen's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. In the 93rd minute, Wen Bo Yang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Falco Pruischer was out of position in the 94 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2.
