Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Naim Ökmen to make the kick off. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored Cappadocia FC's protests and gave Bülent Birdal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Bülent Birdal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Mexico booed when Cappadocia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Hamit Tolgay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mexico's Joel Gaona took a good shot, in the 72nd minute, which hit the crossbar above Oğuzhan Er's head, and flew over the goal. Cappadocia FC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Mexico. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oğuzhan Er having to interfere. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Oğuzhan Er made a huge save. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Oğuzhan Er tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute, Rıfat Erdem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Oğuzhan Er in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 91 minutes into the game, Facundo Cadaval recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oğuzhan Er. Facundo Cadaval showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. In the 95th minute, Alberto Tafalla had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Ahmet Gökalp Ülker's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmet Gökalp Ülker helped the player get up and apologised. Mexico's Xavier Seco was substituted for Alberto Tafalla. After a rather tough play, Cappadocia FC's Ahmet Gökalp Ülker got a free kick in the 96th minute. Mexico's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
