Jan Turek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 10 played minutes GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Babicki. GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's Jan Turek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 12th minute of play. After 13 played minutes GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ got a freekick which was hit by Wincent Wierzcholek. In the 16th minute, Stefan Pryputnicki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 17 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute, Iwo Kuszczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan Turek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Stefan Pryputnicki managed to get in a good position for a shot. GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Stefan Pryputnicki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan Turek saved GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Emanuel Ocampo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Miroslaw Labus, made in the 41st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 43rd minute of play forced GKS OLIMPIA GRUDZIĄDZ's goalkeeper Jan Turek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan Turek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jan Turek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Krzysztof Prus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Ivan Navarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Miroslaw Labus in the 60 minute of the game. Jan Turek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Honduras's attentive Emanuel Ocampo managed to snatch the ball when Miroslaw Labus made a throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 68th minute, Bogdan Babicki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmundo Espiga in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jan Turek, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jan Turek made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Honduras players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
