An unexpectedly hard shot by Herberto Caiado in the 5th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Infante having to interfere. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lima Team's goalkeeper Francisco Infante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jacob Barroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 14 minutes into the game, Anselmo Domingos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lima Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to Lima Team getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Anselmo Domingos hit a great ball. In the 16th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Infante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Lima Team's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Francisco Infante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francisco Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of the match. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montenegro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Francisco Infante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Lima Team's Francisco Infante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Francisco Infante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. A well done corner resulted in Felix Montes drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind Lima Team's goalkeeper. In the 47th match minute, Lima Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Barroso to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herberto Caiado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Herberto Caiado who took care of the corner kick. Lima Team's Herberto Caiado was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Francisco Infante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After a rather tough play, Lima Team's Horácio Sobral got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 86th minute, Anselmo Domingos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. 96 minutes into the match, Lima Team's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Francisco Infante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador played a much better game than Lima Team and deserved their victory. The Lima Team players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
