After a defensive mix-up in Fervent Stalkers's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Augusto Gaskon came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eleuterio Donostia in the 24th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Fervent Stalkers's Franco Navarro. But to his dismay, Franco Navarro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 38th minute, Fervent Stalkers's Franco Navarro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 41 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Franco Navarro came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute of the match Fervent Stalkers got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eleuterio Donostia ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Fervent Stalkers's Luís Gustavo Gonçalves getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 61st minute Franco Navarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eleuterio Donostia was slow to take the kick. During this time Fervent Stalkers's players had a chance to rest. In the 75th minute of the match Cirilo Laurgain shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
