The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bruno Boklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Belmiro in the 9th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the match, Buják's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Alguacil came free, but Bruno Boklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Bonito Gol kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. 25 minutes into the game, Abraham Alguacil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Buják the free kick. Abraham Alguacil kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Buják's Bonito Gol dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. A hard shot 32 in the game by Bonito Gol from a close distance when the talented Marcos Cotilla managed to make a qualified save. Panama's players were relieved. In the 33rd match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Berganza to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Boklund. Buják's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 38th minute, Buják's Mihály Mracskó seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mihály Mracskó the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Buják protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mihály Mracskó had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Mihály Mracskó hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. In the 45th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers András Juhász in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Cotilla saved Panama from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Panama's Abraham Alguacil got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Bruno Boklund in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Buják's Gábor Szász was substituted for Benito Belmiro. The supporters of Buják booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Peyo hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gábor Szász went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Bruno Boklund showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Cambeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Bruno Boklund was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Abraham Alguacil capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Abraham Alguacil really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. In the 95th minute, András Juhász hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
