Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Peru's Julian Murillo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When Peru's Julian Murillo in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AZURDUY F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodosio Iigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Vicente Etxatxu in the 29 minute of the game. Eliseo Mina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Teodosio Iigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Mina came free, but Teodosio Iigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Moises Gayoso quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Elpidio Laurgain, made in the 36th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teodosio Iigo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niclas Füllkrug, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
