Panionios MK were awarded a corner in the 46th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Argyris Ksagorarakis took the corner. Argyris Ksagorarakis made a great header on Panionios MK's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Vale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Panionios MK's Themos Leontiadis. But to his dismay, Themos Leontiadis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 94th match minute, Panionios MK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyriakos Akrivoulis to maneuver through the defense. Panionios MK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
