With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodolfo Romero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Murciélagos FC's zone, Moises Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Romero came out of the goal and Moises Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faruk Talik hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Rodolfo Romero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodolfo Romero didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edmundo Espiga went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Noe, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Rodolfo Romero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. In the 22ndth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Murciélagos FC's Rodolfo Romero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Milagros Cabal heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Edmundo Espiga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodolfo Romero was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. In the 37th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Romero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faruk Talik made in the 38th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Lisandro Balendin however managed to control. In the 41st minute of the match Luca Espinar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodolfo Romero skillfully saved the ball. In the 44th minute Igor Noe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Murciélagos FC defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodolfo Romero. The Murciélagos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodolfo Romero should have stopped the shot. The Murciélagos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Honduras were winning 0-2.

With a little luck, Murciélagos FC's Rodolfo Romero got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Edmundo Espiga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Rodolfo Romero skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 75th minute of play forced Murciélagos FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 76th minute of the match. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Rodolfo Romero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A hard shot 82 in the game by Edmundo Espiga from a close distance when the talented Rodolfo Romero managed to make a qualified save. Murciélagos FC's players were relieved. Edmundo Espiga scored 0-4 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodolfo Romero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edmundo Espiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rodolfo Romero having to make a save. Nicasio Montes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Faruk Talik made in the 94th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Norberto Abecia however managed to control. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Rodolfo Romero in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
