With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pharos Alexandria F.C.'s 许奕广 got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, 许奕广 recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thiago Pliego. 许奕广 showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 46 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Thiago Pliego successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ralph Olano de made a kick off. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sebald Biermann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebald Biermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes, Pharos Alexandria F.C.'s Achim Lutz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thiago Pliego came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line.
