An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Casaus in the 43rd minute of play forced AC 1986 Vinalito's goalkeeper Richmond De Worteleere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind AC 1986 Vinalito's goalkeeper Richmond De Worteleere, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Chile were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Richmond De Worteleere in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richmond De Worteleere narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Eliseo Frances sped through Chile's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego.
