The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Orlando Casaus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Matos Velhos fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Matos Velhos's Júlio Gentil looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vito de Godoi was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sabino Vilhena got free with Thiago Pliego in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito de Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 39thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matos Velhos's Vito de Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Matos Velhos's Sabino Vilhena slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thiago Pliego. That made the score 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. In the 43rd minute, Jiang Qing Lin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Vito de Godoi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Júlio Gentil to make the kick off. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute Júlio Gentil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
