Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Leonardo Peru received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marcos Cotilla came out and tried to block the shot, but Leonardo Peru slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 23rd minute. ALAMBRE de PÚAS's Fausto Bide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 25th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Alberto Laffitte could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Marcos Cotilla however easily saved by the left post. In the 31st match minute, ALAMBRE de PÚAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvestre Giro to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Abraham Alguacil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leonardo Peru got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fausto Bide took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute of the match, Leonardo Peru got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Alberto Laffitte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 48th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Peru was the one to do the kick off. The referee ignored ALAMBRE de PÚAS's protests and gave Nicolas Perutxo a yellow card for diving instead. Fausto Bide made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Isidoro Sarmiento sent off a good shot on target.
