After a defensive mix-up in Hurst Green's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Nyamau came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd match minute, Hurst Green was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antony Asati to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Adah Keter's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Hurst Green's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Nyamau came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Nyamau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Hurst Green's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Peter Nyamau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peter Nyamau came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Hurst Green was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victor Dadi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Peter Nyamau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adah Keter to make the kick off. In the 60th minute, Hurst Green's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Felix Montenegro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Hurst Green's Victor Dadi got a free kick in the 67th minute. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
