Sander Korsma ran back to his position shaking his head. Sander Korsma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. In the 15th minute Sander Korsma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sander Korsma in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Epifanio Demesio was slow to take the kick. During this time Antonio Vespucio Liberti's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Antonio Vespucio Liberti's corner Celestino Salamon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Sander Korsma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sander Korsma got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sander Korsma in the 30th minute of the match. Guillermo Mariano's late challenge caught a Antonio Vespucio Liberti's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Mariano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Antonio Vespucio Liberti booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sander Korsma blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Gualterio Faron took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

If Sander Korsma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sander Korsma in the 52nd minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Sander Korsma came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sander Korsma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Sander Korsma came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Elpidio Txomin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute Sander Korsma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Antonio Vespucio Liberti had won after a very even match.
