Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Iorda in the 5th minute of play. Taavetti Mattila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 6th minute of play. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taavetti Mattila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th match minute, USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jenson Smith to maneuver through the defense. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Iorda, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's zone, Cassius Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Taavetti Mattila came out of the goal and Cassius Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Taavetti Mattila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Ali Nieminen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marco Day, passed just outside the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 40th minute of play forced SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalkeeper Taavetti Mattila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jiang Zhen Sen got free with Marco Day in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Zach Harrison hit a great ball. In the 58th minute of the match USA got a corner. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to USA's Diego Bradley getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Taavetti Mattila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Bradley in the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zach Harrison in the 62nd minute of play forced SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalkeeper Taavetti Mattila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Traian Iorda in the 63rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Mcdonald got free with Taavetti Mattila in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edward Mcdonald received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Taavetti Mattila came out and tried to block the shot, but Edward Mcdonald slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 66th minute. Taavetti Mattila was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Monty Rogers capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Monty Rogers really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. In the 76th minute Jiang Zhen Sen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jiang Zhen Sen managed to get in a good position for a shot. SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's supporters rose to their feet, but Jiang Zhen Sen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 82 minutes into the match, SaarijärvenSomaliSpartans's goalkeeper Taavetti Mattila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sam Campbell. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Marco Baker took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Taavetti Mattila to make any attempt to save it. Koby Fletcher charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Koby Fletcher the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, USA's Koby Fletcher got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 93rd minute of the match Zhang Chong Song sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Day skillfully saved the ball. Taavetti Mattila didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sam Campbell went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score.
