With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patrik Ahlin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Patrik Ahlin. After having played for 26 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmundo Espiga succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, The Alliance's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Patrik Ahlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milagros Cabal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrik Ahlin having to interfere. The Honduras fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 57th minute of play forced The Alliance's goalkeeper Patrik Ahlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Patrik Ahlin in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 60 minutes had been played when some careless play by The Alliance's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Honduras's corner Christian Sancho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Patrik Ahlin quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Honduras booed when The Alliance was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Karlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 63rd minute, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Alliance's goalkeeper Patrik Ahlin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, The Alliance's Ludvig Bäcklin got a free kick in the 79th minute. 85 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patrik Ahlin. Edmundo Espiga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. When Kasper Hermansson fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Alliance's protests and gave Kasper Hermansson a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 96th minute of play forced The Alliance's goalkeeper Patrik Ahlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The The Alliance fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
