Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Marcel Abraão came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 9 minute. In the 12th minute Juan Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play forced Futebol Dos Parça's goalkeeper Enrique Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Herbert Lindholm notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcel Abraão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 56th minute of play forced Futebol Dos Parça's goalkeeper Enrique Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Fabiano Ferraz hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Futebol Dos Parça's Enrique Freire proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Futebol Dos Parça from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcel Abraão's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 63 minutes into the match, Marcel Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 68 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Abraão came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marcel Abraão went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Enrique Freire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. The audience was convinced that Marcel Abraão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. Herbert Lindholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Futebol Dos Parça's Luiz Fabiano Ferraz got a free kick in the 87th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Enrique Freire successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Futebol Dos Parça players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
