The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mattias Sawyer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Mattias Sawyer stood somewhat misplaced when Cristian Sancho came free in front of goal and shot 1-3 to the left of him in the 51 minute. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Crocker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mattias Sawyer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 72nd minute. In the 81st minute, Sam Bates hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Mattias Sawyer made a huge save. After 90 played minutes Memphis Grizzlies got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Crocker. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Memphis Grizzlies.
