Mete Nared sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute, Mete Nared ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Fiori Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. With an all-out effort, Vila Nova FC's Pedro Manzanares threw himself towards the right post 15 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luca Postelnicescu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fiori Mota saved Vila Nova FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Nova FC's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fiori Mota came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute, Axel Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Fiori Mota. Vila Nova FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova FC's Cléber Pinho got a free kick in the 27th minute. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladimir Lara in the 29th minute of play. When Colombia's Abram Sarmiento in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vila Nova FC's goalie prevented a goal. Cléber Pinho made in the 35th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 37 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Cléber Basso came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Abram Sarmiento made the kick off in the second half. Fiori Mota didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abram Sarmiento went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mete Nared in the 54th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luca Postelnicescu's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Mete Nared sped through Colombia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Colombia! In the 67th minute there was a penalty for Vila Nova FC. Rubens Senna stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedro Manzanares. 3-2. After 74th play minutes Mete Nared shot 5-2, a short shot which went by Pedro Manzanares and just under the crossbar into goal. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mete Nared, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jiang Nan Han during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Jiang Nan Han hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignacio Mastache in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fiori Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd match minute, Vila Nova FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mete Nared to maneuver through the defense. Ignacio Mastache blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fiori Mota having to make a save. Ignacio Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Fiori Mota made a huge save. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mete Nared, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mete Nared's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Postelnicescu in the 98th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Mastache in the 99th minute of play forced Vila Nova FC's goalkeeper Fiori Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colombia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
