After 5 played minutes Suikerklontjes got a freekick which was hit by Mike Armentier. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sammy Godts having to interfere. After 14 minutes, Josef Rits mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Suikerklontjes and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 14 played minutes Suikerklontjes got a freekick which was hit by Josef Rits. In the 14th minute of the match Tomas Illescas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sammy Godts skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johannes Weijnandts in the 17th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Johannes Weijnandts sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Sammy Godts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Johannes Weijnandts could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Johannes Weijnandts managed to get in a good position for a shot. Suikerklontjes's supporters rose to their feet, but Johannes Weijnandts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 45th minute of play forced Suikerklontjes's goalkeeper Sammy Godts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Johannes Weijnandts made the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johannes Weijnandts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johannes Weijnandts went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Suikerklontjes's Josef Rits got a free kick in the 76th minute. After 78 minutes, Patricio Costa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Suikerklontjes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bart Van de Velde in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, Suikerklontjes's Sammy Godts got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Boris Kortens went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Tomas Illescas fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Tomas Illescas a yellow card for diving instead. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
